 
| A lot of couples say they'd go crazy if they had to work together. But Duane & Abby are one of those really annoying couples who have everything in common. Not to mention, they're really kind of needy and high-maintenance. Duane & Abby have been working at 1079 The Duke since February of 2006, and started doing mornings at the Duke back in February of 2007.
Duane is a North Georgia native and an LFO alumni. Abby is originally from Indiana; she relocated to Tennessee to attend Lee University in Cleveland. They were married in Benton near the Cherokee National Forrest, one of their favorite places on earth! Duane & Abby love to camp...though they've come a long way from the tent and sleeping bags they used years ago. They're high tech campers these days, having moved up from pop-up camping to a travel trailer! Most free weekends they can be found at a National Forrest or Sate Park.
They love to take road trips and travel together. They've already got their campsite reserved at the beach for this summer! And yes, Duane always drives...which is much safer for the rest of humanity! As you hear on The Duke, Duane & Abby LOVE country music. They travel to the closest Kenny Chesney concert every summer like a religious pilgrimage. Their list of favorite artists is way too long, but you can count Kenny, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, and Alabama as the top five!
They also love movies. The all time favorites? Duane's is "The Sting," starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Abby's is "Say Anything," with John Cusak as Lloyd Dobbler! Other mutual faves are Twister, Tombstone, It's a Wonderful Life, Star Wars, Pirates, Lord of the Rings, Men in Black, Mystery Men, The Notebook. Woah. Too many to list! |
After years of searching, reasearching, and perfecting, Duane has finally built his dream home theater...the big screen, surround sound, even down to the movie posters and seating! Humm...what will his next project be? He's always gotta have something up his sleeves!
Abby loves to read. She's a huge Twilight fan. She dares you to read the saga and NOT fall in love. Just not possible. Other faves? Nicholas Sparks. Charlaine Harris. Maeve Binchy. Janet Evanovich. Marian Keyes. She's always looking for great book recs as she tries to read at least one book a week, and nearly made it last year--50 in 2009. But she's already way ahead for 2010. Duane is a little bit rugged and a little bit metro. He has twice as many shoes as Abby and does all the ironing in their household! Abby would much rather be barefoot and she doesn't have time to iron because she's so busy keeping Duane in line.
Duane & Abby live in North Georgia with their beagle Georgia. Uh huh, they're also one of those annoying couples who treats their dog like a small person. And, yes, they're UGA fans, feel free to hassle them all you want, lovers of Rocky Top, they're used to it! |
