Toby Keith Provides Help For Oscar Nominated Movie

Turns out that Toby Keith had a hand in helping with the production of the Oscar nominated movie, Crazy Heart. The movie, starring Jeff Bridges and Colin Farrell, filmed part of the movie during Toby Keith's September, 2008 concert in Albuquerque. In Crazy Heart, Bridges plays Bad Blake, a broken-down country music singer who is trying to find salvation from his hard-living ways. Bridges received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for the role.

In order to capture the authenticity of a real country concert, Toby allowed Bridges and Farrell to perform during his concert in 2008. Movie cameras captured the performance, and even used backstage footage - including Toby's tour buses - to add to the touring feel. For his help, Toby was thanked in the movie credits.
